Royal Irish Academy of Music and Speech and Drama (RIAM) Exams were founded in 1894 to support students of music and drama at every stage of their learning journey.
Speech and Drama exams. Suitable for students 7yrs plus. The Speech and Drama grade exams are designed to provide students with a programme that encompasses performance in poetry, prose, drama, mime, reading, theory and conversation. THIS EXAM CAN INCORPORATE MUSICAL THEATRE – ACTING THROUGH SONG
Creative Performance. Suitable for children aged 8yrs plus. The Creative Performance Syllabus is designed to provide students with a programme to release creativity and stimulate an imaginative response to the work presented. Students perform a poem and create a mime to music or write a story from a stimulus or title.
Solo Acting. Suitable for students aged 11yrs plus. A monologue with characterisation, costume, movement etc is studied and portrayed. A selected skill – mime, devising, acting through song and conversation with examiner. There is theory work for higher grades.

LAMDA

London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) exams inspire and empower learners across the globe to be confident communicators. Online exams held throughout the year.
LAMDA stands for London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
A LAMDA exam is the speech and drama equivalent of a music grade, which begin at basic levels and culminates at Grade 8. The exams use performance to develop self-confidence, physical presence, and a strong speaking voice. LAMDA exams cover a range of disciplines including:
