Sweet Tunes Choir is now in it’s ninth year. From very small beginnings of some eight members, it has now grown to a sizeable membership of sixty. During those years the choir has grown in confidence and has outgrown not only its unison singing but also, it’s two part singing - and nowadays boasts a strong mixed voice ensemble singing in three parts.
The group meets as a full choir once a week for a two-hour session, and each group also had sectional rehearsals once a week for an hour duration.
The choir has participated in the Mayo Choral Festival and also the Navan Choral Festival. Sweet Tunes are in high demand locally and sing at many charitable fund raisers. They also have a very strong presence over the Christmas period and perform at Christmas Concerts and also at the Christmas Market.
In February 2020 the choir helped at rehearsals for a newly formed HSE choir, Sweet Memories, their help was invaluable as it encouraged the singers in the new choir to sing out loud and proud.
Our future plans are to shine even brighter than before and do what we do best – sing and entertain!
We will be competing in choral festivals and hopefully will travel abroad. Collectively we say, or sing……BRING IT ON!!!
