Across the Boards is the resident performing arts group for children, young people and adults with additional needs in the Arts Centre. Several classes run under the umbrella of Across the Boards.

Classes focus on speech and language, developing creativity and performance skills through and in drama, song, and dance. Developing attention skills, communication, and social skills also forms a major part of classes.

Participants will experience games, technique – drama, song, and dance, story making and storytelling, performance, improvisation, mime to music and much more. We encourage individuality and will play to the strengths of individuals.

We have high expectations for the participants of all groups in Across the boards and love to see them performing as much as possible. All members love to showcase their talents and they have regular opportunities to do this in class, on the stage and at outdoor events.

We have several volunteers to support participants. Classes are differentiated to support individual needs. We encourage Parents and Guardians to contact us in relation to specific strengths and needs.

Friday 4:00pm – 4.45pm Artsarama - 6yrs - 10yrs

Friday 5:00pm - 6.00pm Artsarama - 11yrs - 17yrs

Friday 6.00pm - 7.00pm Bloomstars - 18yrs+

Friday 7.00pm - 8.00pm Musical Theatre Dance - 16yrs+

Friday 8.00pm - 9.00pm Musical Theatre Drama – 16yrs+

Sarah will contact parents of new students when booking is made to discuss strengths, needs, supports, sensory requirements etc.
