Youth Theatre
Students in Youth theatre engage weekly in drama and dance classes. Modules include Audition/Monologue preparation, Musical Theatre, Devising, Script work, Choreography Class, Dance technique and Genre classes. External facilitators are brought in throughout the year to work on Acting Through Song, Audition Techniques, Acting Practitioners and methods and more! There are plenty of opportunities to perform throughout the year in Culture Night, Mullingar Pantomime Group, End of Year Showcase and other projects.
Many of our Youth Theatre participants become involved in Mullingar Student Players who produce a staged play in October and a musical around Easter time.
This group is open to those in Post Primary year groups 4th (TY), 5th and 6th year.
Saturdays 3pm – 5pm
Testimonies
‘I feel that youth theatre is a brilliant opportunity for those who want to study and practice and develop their skills in the performing arts, particularly for those who wish to pursue it in 3rd level education and further make a career out of it.’
‘I have found it to be quite fun. I have been doing stage school/youth theatre for 8 years and it’s been the best hobby that I’ve had, I have made many new friends and I’ve enjoyed the theatre productions.’
